Using two examples, I’ll introduce the subject of music and the (new-ish) phenomenon of Social Prescribing. This promises a revolution in wellbeing. Hopefully, this talk will become an interactive discussion.
Presented by David Dewar, Department of Music at the University of Bristol.
“I’m a ‘classical’ musician (conductor; harpsichordist; horn-player), and also a doctoral researcher in musicology.
A spin-off from my research is an increasing interest in how music participation can enhance life: especially so for anyone with feelings of awkwardness or similar in social settings. In my Discovery Talk: Music for the Shy, I’ll use a couple of real examples in exploring this theme.”
