Enjoy a unique opportunity to join ecological artist Pete Ward and Senior Politics Lecturer Dr Joanie Willett to share the stories of your local Cornish ecology through conversation and making.
Through a dynamic afternoon of guided activities, we will explore the potential of the organic materials on our doorsteps to re-imagine our local communities and add their voices to the political process. The workshop will culminate in a communal digital collage to represent a shared vision for the future.
Based on a simple show and tell process, you will be invited to share your ideas through objects gathered in your local environment, make drawings and sculptures using gathered materials and reflect upon the role of ecology in contemporary political process.
You will need:
Before the event, you will need to take some time to find objects (for example; stones, leaves, soil, old pottery) from your local environment that resonate with you. You will also need mark-making and sculptural materials such as coloured rocks, soils and clays, sticks, discarded charcoal, berries and leaves.
